Extra Credits: Gamification

This video presents an interesting perspective on game-based teaching: gamification - the notion that teaching (and many other aspects of life) can be boosted by game principles.

Using minecraft in maths

I have tested minecraft in a math lesson teaching technical drawing and perspective. Basically The game is a giant sandbox of centicubes offering students rich opportunities to build playfully. About Game-Based Teaching

Welcome to Game-Based Teaching - a site for networking and exchanging ideas about game-based teaching. The network is primarily aimed at researchers, but educators and game designers should also feel free to join in order to further dialogue.

NEWS: I am looking for ideas on how to create more activity on the NING. Topics for discussion or exchange of ideas on Game-Based Teaching (GBT) could be:

- "Gaming" versus "schooling"
- The changed role of the teacher in GBT
- Teacher pedagogies and game pedagogies
- Design of learning games

Any ideas for discussion would be much appreciated!
